“ We showed up here as a huge group of 18 people with halal dietary requirements. Although nothing was halal, they were extremely flexible and able to substitute items where necessary. The fish and chips are beer battered and dipped in beef fat but Arthur had a word with the chef to ensure new batter was made and that the fish was fried in fresh vegetable oil. To go to this extent to cater for such a big group was honestly unlike any service I’ve ever seen before. Excellent table service from Eve and Tanya too and they ensured that our big table had food and drinks topped up as and when needed. Genuinely really really impressed - thank you to the three of you and the wider team for making our visit such a smooth and memorable one!!! ”

“ Visited here this week when working away, I can honestly say I can't wait to visit again. Independent restaurant servicing locally sourced products. Huge menu with a very varied style of dishes I had the Lamb Shish to start which was tasty with a good level of heat. The fish and chips were insane I went for the large which was huge, would have been better off with the small. Fish was perfect, white flaky Cod and crunchy batter, chips were also super crunchy with a fluffy potato centre. Great food, good value looking forward to my next visit to try some of their other dishes Podge and Tin Round Two Mixed Grill - Sirloin Steak, Chicken Wings, Sauages, and Spice Coated Cod Side Salad Loaded Fries - Trufle Oil, Parmesan, Crispy Bacon, and Parsley I have visited here before and enjoyed it. This time, I wasn't as impressed. The loaded fries were top draw, crispy , and plenty of Parmesan incredibly tasty. The side salad was dressed well, I liked the sundried tomatoes and olives. The mix grill was expensive for what it was cooked OK but not a great quality, sauages also didn't seem to have much flavour, Chicken Wings did fall of the bone but we're not marinated in the jerk bbq, if they were I couldn't taste it. The cod was really good, though. I was not disappointed in the food, really, but quality against cost, I don't mind spending money on food but would expect a better quality. “ Went tonight for dinner for my sons 17th birthday for the first time. I booked a table for 7pm and they did advise me on the phone that last food orders were 7.30. My son had a query about how spicy one of the sauces were and they bought him a pot of the different ones so he could try it which I thought was a lovely touch. Atmosphere was lovely and the ladies who served us were very nice and friendly. Food when it arrived, which didn't take too long ( 2 steaks and 1 chicken) was amazing. No faults, cooked to perfection how we asked. I don't normally leave reviews but it was so good that I felt I had to. We had a lovely evening to celebrate his birthday! ”

“ I've eaten here numerous times. The food has always been really good. I would recommend the spicy fish burger. I would also recommend the blue moon WHEAT beer. I'm not a fan of metal surgery tray you eat from instead of a plate, but there's got to be a reason for it. ”

The venue was fantastic and the staff were even better however, I found the choice of vegan food to be somewhat not to my taste. That is why I have given a two-star rating. I had the vegan chicken style burger which felt like I brought it from a budget supermarket and microwaved it, Not what I was expecting at all, The quality just was not there with this dish. My friends seem to enjoy their food ”

“ We've been to the Podge and Tin so many times over the years. We've had lots of items on the menu and I'd say our favourite is the bacon burger and I love the sweet potato fries. All the staff are friendly and the ladies serving us today at 1pm couldn't do enough for us. I've never had a bad experience here. I would say make sure you book, especially at weekends or peak times, because they do get very busy. ”
